Frankincense / Olibanum resin - Boswellia sacra/carteri - SUPERIOR Choice grade from the Sultanate of Oman,by far the largest Brown tears we have ever seen. This Oman Frankincense resin has beautiful light and lively top notes.According to the Omani people"Fusoos" is the best kind of frankincense available in the market at all, characterized by the smell even before burning it. It’s very attractive because of the color. This type of Frankincense is also called “Large Pill Frankincense” because of its size which is much bigger than the “Fusoos Grade II”. Both grades I and II are in the same quality and only separated at harvest by their size. Fusoos Grade I is specially used for religious events and places of worship such as churches, synagogues and mosques, owing to the fact of its great quantity of smoke profusion, requiring greater amount of charcoal to properly burn.

Oman Frankincense Market Status: International Supply from Oman is now available on a very limited basis.

In the past many of the trees in Oman have been over-harvested and not properly rested, forcing harvesters to travel further into the desert for quality resins . Economic growth and its expansion of towns, homes and businesses are also encroaching upon trees. The long-term survival of the international frankincense trade of Oman resins is now in the hands of the Sultantate of Oman. The government has taken control of the entire process and is now releasing stock on a very limited basis.

We have been doing our best to obtain resins and have just secured a small shipment.
