Over the years, customers and fans of Palo Santo Wood have asked us . "Hey! Why don't you have Palo Santo Wood Powder?" As the demand increased for the powder we searched Peru to first see if it was available, and if we could find a reliable dealer. About a year ago we did find an eco-friendly dealer in Peru, but communication was a problem. The company had to travel into the jungle, by canoe, for 2 days to reach the village where the Palo Santo Wood was harvested. This lapse in communication(what? no cell phone service?) was a big problem. The next step was to see if we could do it ourselves. Well, that's a problem, because the smallest machine is the size of a huge truck. So it was back to drawing board. Finally, a few months ago we finally found a supplier, and our first shipment arrived this week. For those of you not familiar with Palo Santo Wood a.k.a Holy wood, it has been used since ancient times by the Incas as a spiritual remedy for purifying and cleansing. It is said to cleanse a space of negative energies. Palo Santo wood is harvested under government supervision by the natives of the Peruvian jungle. Palo Santo trees often drop their twigs and branches and the wood is collected from the ground. No trees are destroyed in the collection of our wood. The sticks can be lit alone as is and will burn for a few seconds to a minute or so and extinguish themselves, filling a space with a sweet warm fragrance. The Palo Santo Wood powder is used in small amounts as an ingredient in incense mixtures. Mixes wonderfully with all the copal resins, sandalwood, vanilla, balsams, benzoin, etc.
